Mollie Hunter

Mollie Hunter was born in 1922, in Longniddry, East Lothian, Scotland. She is one of Scotland’s best loved writers for children and young adults.

Hunter has won many awards including the Carnegie Medal, in 1974 for The Stronghold and The New York Times Outstanding Book of the Year Award, in 1976 for A Stanger Came Ashore.

Her stories continue to enthral adults and children alike.
